If you have a problem with any public utility that you feel is unresolved you can always contact the Public Utilities Commission. They regulate the utility companies and these companies take contact from the Public Utilities Commission very seriously.

I worked for a power company in Georgia and know that the power company gets contacted by the Public Utilities Commission and when they do they flag the customer account so they treat them well after that to avoid future complaints to the commission.

Insurance company problems then complain to the Insurance Commissioner of your state. In Georgia the insurance company with the hands was almost banned because of their practices which the Insurance Commissioner did not like.

By the way the Bar Association regulates attorneys. They also do contact and reprimand attorneys if the attorney violates the code of ethics. I once had an attorney contact me after I complained at an assisted living facility that the had mold and I got a threatening letter from an attorney.

Turns out that attorney was in an attorney practice that I already had a relationship with. I complained to the Bar Association and that attorney sent me an apology and promised never to contact me again.

Or you could just pay your bills on time like the rest of us and stop thinking this or anything else is a public charity. I love how people provide dead beats with resources to get around doing the right thing but nothing to get them some help to keep the lights on after they let them go off for whatever reason.

You act as if a complaint to this agency isn't investigated. When they are, companies send back data showing the people complaining ofter do not pay their bills on time and want "someone to work with them." Flagging your account doesn't mean you'll be able to play games with them. It doesn't mean they won't have to pay deposits to reconnect and so on.

If you want real help, call 211 in your area. They can't solve whatever mess you find yourself in but they may be able to help get the lights on and maybe something to eat into the house.
