Georgia Power - Over Charging!
I had the same issue with Georgia power over charging. I'm extremely conservative in my usage.
Matter a fact I can go long periods without air conditioning, but not heat. The summer of 2015 was extremely hot. I only turn the air on when my dogs and I couldn't bear it any longer. My monthly power bills were anything from $60 to $80, but during that summer I got a first time bill for $190 "something" dollars.
I was unemployed living off my savings, at this point my savings had depleted so I was maxing out my credit cards to keep going. I ended up having my power turned off because I couldn't afford to pay the power bill. I lived in my home 4 months without power. I soke to Georgia power about this issue, and even asked for assistance, but no help was available, not even through the Salvation Army who takes donations for that purpose.
I now have a job in North Carolina, but I would like for Georgia power to re-estimate my past power bills and lower the amount.
Obviously there are many customers who were aware they were being over charged.
I never understood charging for peak season. If you're using more power, you are still paying for it.
Reason of review: Problems with payment.
Monetary Loss: $297.
Preferred solution: Price reduction.
Georgia Power Cons: Not willing to help.
